In this 5-week course, I guide participants via Zoom sessions. Each will include a short talk, meditation instructions, guided meditation, and group discussion. It will begin with an introduction to mindfulness practice, and gradually open to kindness and compassion exercises. Participants are invited to continue practicing mindfulness on their own with the support of guided meditation recordings, follow-up emails, and practice handouts. As a military Veteran, I was never formally introduced to meditation as a method of self care. Since taking Mr. Rongcal's Mindfulness course, I was able to pause, reflect, and be mindful of some of the behaviors contributing to my everyday stressors and burdens. I have learned to love myself and be forgiving, and I've been more productive and positive--I've learned so much from the 5-week practices and they have been truly life changing!

RJ's course was a thorough introduction to the practice of mindfulness. He made meditation seem accessible to all. He created an environment in which we learned that there was no "wrong" way to practice while still giving directions for re-focusing and suggestions for modifications if we felt distracted.
After each session, I was filled with gratitude that I had made it to class, even if my day had been busy and the idea of sitting down for 90 minutes felt daunting.
